Zaida Rice is one of the newly elected members of Voice-Buffalo. She was born and raised in the city of Buffalo. Her parents are both natives of Puerto Rico – her mother living in Buffalo and her father living in Alabama. She is married to Deacon James D. Rice Jr. and a mother of five children – one son serving our country in the Navy. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Serves/Youth Counseling.
Zaida is a member of The New Mt. Ararat Temple of Prayer. Her desire is to be involved on a greater level in community outreach for young and old. She has said, “As I have witnessed the injustices being done to our youth, I aspire to be an example of treating people with compassion and respect. I believe no one should be defined by the circumstances of their environment and I look forward to be their voice.”
